Sixty Million Postcards Associated Festival : Beacons 2012 – First Acts Announced – New Site
We’re really excited to see Rodney Smith aka Roots Manuva on the Beacons line-up this year. Following the release of last year’s 4everrevolution – his most powerful work since Run Come Save Me – the UK hip-hop legend will be bringing his innovative sound to the Yorkshire countryside this summer. And one of UK hip-hop’s rising stars will also be playing. The Mercury Music Prize-nominated Ghostpoet will be laying down his laconic beats and baritone drawl and you’ll get the chance to see why Factory Floor have made a fan of Joy Division / New Order’s Stephen Morris and had the likes of Pitchfork and Quietus touting them for bigger things.
Beacons is a three-day, four-night festival and for a short period, tickets are available at just £60 for the weekend, including camping (£55 for students and Regulars Cards holders). A limited number of early bird weekend tickets are available now. Tickets will be available to purchase from the Beacons Festival website, HMV, Seetickets, Gigantic, Leedstickets.com, Jumbo Records and Crash Records.

The Milk have announced details of a mammoth twenty-eight-date UK tour throughout March, stopping off at Postcards on March 4th.
The Milk are quickly earning a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting live bands. They were even nominated for Best Breakthrough Artist at the UK Festival Awards this summer, going up against the likes of Bruno Mars and Jessie J. In London alone, the last year has seen The Milk perform rammed-out headline shows across the likes of Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, Dingwalls, The Jazz Cafe, XOYO and Camden Barfly, predominately whilst still unsigned. With a new single scheduled to coincide with the tour, the band’s first extensive UK tour will see them preview songs from their forthcoming debut album, which has been produced by celebrated DJ and remixer Brad Baloo (The Nextmen).

Valentines Special : Love Will Tear Us Apart
Howl presents Ruby & The Ribcage and Young Romance – live on February 3rd
Ruby’s songs are a patchwork quilt of stories and melodies created by her and enhanced by the playing and workings of the Ribcage. Tales of trodden weeds and helter skelters shrapnel rust and sea sick sailors, stiff stuffer pigeons and lovers and haters, north wind bellows and storm creators.
